Login to a Windows system and insert the bootable flash drive that was made bootable for installing Linux Mint by flashing with Balena Etcher flashing software Open File explorer and go to This PC Insert the corrupted flash drive It appears that the flash drive has reduced to a capacity of 2.25 MB containing few files Don’t worry the Flash Drive is not damaged Let’s check it with Windows Disk Management Software It can be seen there are 3 partitions on Flash Drive, the middle one only is visible in File Explorer, other partitions are shown as unallocated space There are options to create New Simple Volume for other partitions but no option to format the 2.25 MB bootable partition Close the Windows Manager Eject the Flash Drive safely Now login to the installed Linux Mint system or any other Linux Operating System and insert the bootable flash drive that was made bootable for installing Linux Mint by flashing with Balena Etcher flashing software Insert the corrupted flash drive The flash drive contains Linux Mint setup files and is accessible in Linux Operating System Open “Disks” Application Select the Flash Drive It can be seen there are 3 partitions on Flash Drive, the middle one only was visible in Windows File Explorer, other partitions were shown as unallocated space. Select the middle DOS/ FAT partition of 2.25 MB Click on ‘Delete Partition’ button and delete this partition All the partitions are deleted and disk is shown with its original capacity Format the partition to make it usable by clicking on ‘Settings’ button Type a label of your choice Select, appropriate Format Type, EXT4 will not be visible in Windows, however, NTFS and FAT will be visible in Windows and Linux both Click ‘Next’ to proceed Click ‘Format’ to begin formatting
Formating in progress, wait for finish Formatting Complete, Click ‘Mount’ button to mount the flash drive Flash Drive has become re-usable, eject it from Linux system and try in Windows Re-Login to the Windows system and insert the repaired flash drive Insert the repaired flash drive Check properties of Flash Drive The Flash Drive is restored to its original capacity You can now use it as earlier on Windows System Thanks for Watching.
