How To Make Ringtones For An iPhone Using iTunes!

Hey guys, David Lynch with Payette Forward
going to show you today how to make your own custom ringtone using iTunes. You don’t need to download any apps or additional
software to do this and only take you about five minutes. So let’s get right into it. You’re going to want to go to Audio Trimmer. I’ll leave a link for this website in the
description before I go any further. Let me just say that audio trimmer is not
affiliated with Payette Forward. Uh, we’re not being paid to endorse their
services. But as I was being researched for this video
and for the blog post that will come out later this week. I found this was by far the best service it
really simple really easy to use and it only take you about five minutes as I said. So what you’re going to do first is choose
the file you want to turn into a ringtone as you can see, they have 11 different supported
audio formats. So pretty much any audio file you want to
make your ringtone you can you can do with audio trimmer. So I’m going to go ahead and choose my file
and I’m going to select happy birthday piano just in case, you know, you got a birthday
coming up and you want to remind everyone anytime. Uh, they call you or text you. Uh, let’s choose that open and next you’ll
see that you get this, uh bar with the audio clip by clip is 29 seconds long. I recommend that you make your uh, your ringtone
clip 20 to 30 seconds anything longer than that and you run the risk of it not sink into
your iPhone properly. So I’m going to go ahead I’m gonna make it
a 20-second clip and as you can see down here, you can see your crop time mine’s from 90
seconds to about 29 seconds. Uh, so that’ll be perfect. Uh, and before you go ahead and crop this
and download it you need to make sure that your output format is m4r ringtones on your
iPhone are m4r, um files not MP3 this is where people usually get tripped up. They try to turn an MP3 into the ring tone
and it just won’t work with the iPhone. So make sure you are choosing your your output
format as an M4 are phial go ahead and click go ahead and click crop takes about two seconds
to process and we can go ahead and click download and there it is my Just appeared if you’re
doing this on Safari all the steps are the same except your uh, your download file will
appear up underneath this, uh download arrow and you can click your file open it there. So the next step here is to pull this file
into iTunes now iTunes setup on your computer. It’s really simple just click on the download
and it’ll appear underneath tones. Now, if you don’t see tones in this menu,
all you do is click edit menu and your tones, you just check the box since the tones and
tones will appear. Uh, so like once again underneath this menu
open up tones. And as you can see my 20-second clip is right
here. Uh, and this is where I’m going to sync it
up to my iPhone and download it. So go ahead and sync up your iPhone plug your
iPhone in using the lightning cable. And as you can see the iPhone just appeared
to go ahead and click on that. And before we sink it up, uh, make sure that
tone. Are sinking as well. All you do is underneath Settings click on
tones and make sure this sink tones box is checked if that’s checked your uh, your tones
will sync up that’s not a default setting with iTunes. So make sure you check that box. First time. I did this this box is not checked for me
and my ringtone didn’t appear the first time so make sure this think tones box is checked
and we’re going to go ahead and we’re going to sync it up
and we are all set. So now I’m going to do is I’m going to go
onto the iPhone screen recording and show you exactly how to make your custom ringtone
which we just synched up to our iPhone and turn that into the ring tone. You’ll hear when anyone calls or texts you. All right. So now we’re going to go ahead and take that
custom ringtone and make it our iPhone ringtones. Let’s go ahead and open up the Settings app
tap sounds and haptics and then tap ringtone and as you can see right at the top underneath
ringtones That custom ringtone. We just added to our iPhone go ahead and select
that and I like you can hear Happy Birthday playing in the background of this video. Uh, and that is really all you have to do. Now. You can see on my screen next to ringtone
underneath sounds of vibration patterns. Uh, it says happy birthday piano audio trimmer. You can rename that file if you want that’s
really all it takes took us about five minutes to set this custom ringtone and that’s all
you need to know to make your own custom ringtone for your iPhone. So thank you for watching this video. Give it a thumbs up if you enjoyed or leave
