You can also present Additional Instructions, and another default when Monitor is required, a Facial Detection Check. There are also a couple of facial detection options you can select, which include being able to prevent students from starting the exam if their face cannot be detected during the Startup Sequence, and also to notify students during the exam if their face cannot be detected. Be sure to also take a look at the options under Advanced Settings to customize your options further. When you are finished, click Save and Close. Now you will see that your exam requires Respondus LockDown Browser, compared to what it looks like when it is not required. When you’re ready for students to access the exam, make sure that the link to download Respondus is activated. Go into Edit Mode, and then next to the link for Respondus LockDown Browser Download, open the drop-down menu, and click Show Link. Then, turn Edit Mode back off. The link should now appear on the left. It is important to note that, if the exam requires Respondus, the student must start their Blackboard session IN the Respondus LockDown Browser, not navigate to it later. To review student submissions, go back to Course Tools, and Respondus LockDown Browser. For the exam you adminstered, go to the drop-down menu, and click Class Results. Here is the dashboard where you can review submissions. As you can see, there is one that has high priority review, which suggests there are probably some flagged items to review. Click the plus to expand, you can see Priority for Review is high, and there is a flag. To review, click play, where you can watch the student in real time. And that is a quick walkthrough of how to use Respondus LockDown Browser: how to set it up, how to make the browser available for download to students, and then how to review the submissions after the exam has been administered.
